We believe in the following distinctive biblical beliefs. We use B.E.L.I.E.F.S. as an acrostic for easy memorization.

  1. Bible will always be the primary word of God to all mankind. - God speaks to us primarily through the Bible, which is the word of God, holy, inspired, and without errors in the original manuscripts. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) However, He also uses various means to communicate the Bible to us today. (Hebrews 1:1-4). Still, everything must be judged based on the word of God, which is always the Bible.
  2. Everyone needs to be saved. - Everyone has fallen short of the glory of God in all aspects of their being. (Romans 3:23) Therefore everyone needs to be thoroughly saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-10). This salvation begins now and involves all aspects of their being. (1 Peter 1:3-9)
  3. The Lordship of Jesus Christ must be acknowledged by everyone. - Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6). Therefore, He is both Lord and Savior of all mankind. (Acts 2:36) Everyone must believe in Him and follow Him as Lord, and not just as Savior, in order to be saved. (Acts 2:37-39)
  4. The Image of God remains our purpose here on earth. - Mankind was created in the image of God, which means his purpose is to represent God here on earth. Therefore we can only glorify God if we represent Him faithfully. (Genesis 1:26-27) Because of sin, and apart from salvation, this cannot be done (Ephesians 4:20-24). Only through spiritual transformation can this be done, and it is only through faith in Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
  5. The End of All Things is just the beginning of the New Creation. – Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead. (Revelation 20:11-15) He will also come again to usher in the new creation, which is the new heaven and the new earth, where everything will be new. (Revelation 21:1-5)
  6. The Filling of the Holy Spirit is the first gift given to those who believe. – The Holy Spirit is a gift promised to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. (Acts 2:38-39) Also, receiving this gift has a beginning, and it is a personal experience that can be verified by others. (Acts 19:1-2)
  7. Spiritual Transformation is the process and goal of true discipleship. – God wants every Christian to be transformed into the image of His Son Jesus Christ. Therefore, to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, one must cooperate with this process, which is accomplished through the work of the Holy Spirit in the believer's life through the word of God, and also together with other believers in a real community. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:42-47)
