How does one join a ministry in RLCC?

There are many ministries in RLCC that a person can join. To help with choosing which ministry to join, we have developed the I-SERVE Approach, which involves the following steps:

• Interests – A person needs to determine which areas of ministry they are passionate about or interested in.
• Strengths – From the list of interests, a person must check where he or she has strengths that would be useful and remove those items where he or she has no strengths.
• Expectations – From the remaining items on the list, a person must determine if he or she is able to meet the expectations for each item, removing those items where he or she cannot meet the expectations.
• Return of investment –From the remaining items on the list, a person must discern which ministry will give the best return of investment of time, talents, and treasures based on their situation in life.
• Visualization – From the remaining items on the list, a person needs to visualize if he or she can spend at least one year serving the Lord in the ministry options that are remaining.
• Experience – From the remaining items on the list, which should be minimal already, or maybe just one or two, a person can try to experience serving the Lord in each ministry for at least three months to discern the Lord’s calling before deciding.
